About Us:
Sound Planning was established in 1970 in Detroit, Michigan. The original principals, Armstrong and Baird, had backgrounds in broadcasting, engineering and construction. We began our business as a sound systems contractor installing for a wide variety of customers including religious, recreational, government, residential, retail stores and restaurants.
Much of our business was derived from being the principal installation firm for the Muzak and Seeberg background music franchises.
Sound Planning began operations in Florida in 1972 and Illinois in 1974. Since this time, our business has focused almost exclusively on churches and synagogues. We have done hundreds of installations for every denomination and have mastered acoustics in all types of buildings.
In 1997 we began contracting in Hiawassee, Georgia and in 2006 we expanded into Michigan's upper peninsula. David Armstrong brings over 45 years of experience to these locations.
As a professional sound contractor, we have access to hundreds of equipment brands, but we have selected a core group of American companies as our primary suppliers. These are some of the oldest brands in the audio business widely recognized for quality, innovation, value and customer support. These brands include Electro-Voice (1927), JBL (1946), Crown (1947), Telex (1936), Bogen (1934), Astatic
(1932), Atlas (1935), Quam (1935) and Motorola (1935). We have added newer
companies that have established themselves as leaders such as Midas, QSC, DOD and
DBX.
Finally, we intend to stay in business for the long term. We have seen competitors come and go because of lack of customer satisfaction. We know that we cannot afford to have unhappy customers and we will strive to make sure you receive the finest service.
