History & Scope:
Sound Planning was started by David Armstrong and Pete Baird.
We began our first church sound system with Altec-Lansing speakers in 1969. This led to the installation of many other Michigan sound systems. Most of these were church sound systems. Sound Planning expanded to Illinois, (Sound Planning Associates) and Florida, while continuing to do pro a/v in Michigan.
Our business also includes church video projection systems - commonly called powerpoint systems (Powerpoint being the most popular software when computer projection is used).
Big screen video has become widespread in church media systems, also incorporating pan-tilt-zoom cameras.
The South Florida Sound Contracting business has included many synagogue sound systems and also synagogue video systems. Synagogue PA systems are somewhat more demanding than church PA systems since the systems must expand for the High Holy Days. Temple audio systems often incorporate automixing since temple sound systems are often unsupervised. Synagogue/ Temple video systems are growing.
Our principal brands are Electro-Voice speakers, Telex wireless microphones, Midas mixing boards, QSC amplifiers, Sanyo video projectors, Panasonic video cameras.
We have installed professional sound systems and equipment since 1970 and professional video systems almost as long.
